Gloucester County Home Brewers
December  2008

This Month:
Our Holiday dinner will be held at the Whitman Square Men's Club.  The dinner will be catered by Famous Dave's BBQ.

The event will be at 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 6. Officially, it runs until 11:00PM, but we should be ok to stay late if desired.  We will need a couple of people at the site around 6:00-6:30PM to help setup and be ready to pay Famous Dave's when they arrive.  A check should be provided by the club for a value of $540.33.  This includes a $25 delivery fee.

We are having enough food delivered to feed 50 people according to Dave's, but this does not include any desserts.

What we decided was that attendees can either give $15 per head or one dessert per head.  Other items such as chips, dips, etc. will work as well.  This monetary contributions will go to the fund to help pay for the space rental and the food.

Last Month:

In addition to clearing up the holiday dinner, the topic of new positions in the club was discussed.

I feel this is a great idea.  Positions discussed were President, Vice-President, Event Planner (Secretary), and Treasurer.

I believe this will help us be better organized and able to bond better as brewers and friends, if we all get more involved in the daily activities of the organization.

While all members are encouraged to participate
in any function they wish, having points of contact for the major functions is ideal.

I plan to bring a sign up sheet for the voting that will take place at the January meeting to the dinner.

The other topics of conversation were the idea of buying a large tent for the club and continuing the idea of trying to setup a booth at the Battleship Beerfest (should there be one next year).

The need for the tent is obvious, and if we can have a presence at the festival as we would be the "hosting" homebrew club, perhaps we can attract more interest in our hobby as well as more members.
